Guarantee & Warranty Policy
This Guarantee & Warranty Policy applies to purchases made via toolbuyer.co.uk and forms part of the Terms and Conditions of First Point Midlands LTD. It does not affect your statutory rights under UK law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015).
1. Scope & Duration
- Unless stated otherwise on the product page, goods supplied by First Point Midlands LTD are guaranteed for 12 months from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship.
- This guarantee applies to normal domestic use. Where goods are used for professional or commercial purposes, the guarantee may be limited to 6 months unless the manufacturer specifies otherwise.
2. What the Guarantee Covers
- Manufacturing defects and faults arising from normal, intended use of the product.
- Where a fault is confirmed, we will at our discretion repair, replace, or refund the item (see Section 6).
3. What the Guarantee Does Not Cover
- Wear and tear, consumables (e.g., blades, bits, brushes, batteries), and cosmetic damage that does not affect function.
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, improper storage, lack of maintenance, modification, or use contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Damage occurring in transit when return packaging and protection are inadequate (see Section 5).
- Accidental damage, impact, liquid ingress, corrosion, or environmental/chemical exposure.
- Products with removed/defaced serial numbers or where a valid proof of purchase cannot be provided.
4. How to Make a Warranty Claim (Email Only)
All warranty enquiries and claims must be made by email only so we have a written record. Please contact: sales@toolbuyer.co.uk.
Include the following information in your email:
- Order number and date of purchase;
- Product name/SKU and (if present) serial or batch number;
- A clear description of the fault and when it occurs;
- Photographs or short video showing the issue, plus images of any serial/ID labels.
Do not return any goods before receiving return instructions and a reference from our team.
5. Preparing Goods for Return (Packaging Duty)
The customer must ensure goods are properly packaged and well protected for transit, using sturdy outer cartons, internal padding (e.g., bubble wrap/void fill), and secure sealing so items cannot move freely. We recommend a tracked and insured service appropriate to value and fragility.
If items are returned damaged due to inadequate packaging or protection, we may refuse the claim or make a reasonable deduction to reflect diminished value.
6. Our Remedy (Repair / Replacement / Refund)
- Once a fault is confirmed, we will at our discretion repair the product, supply a replacement (same or equivalent specification), or issue a refund.
- Where repair or replacement is not possible within a reasonable time, a refund will be offered.
- If the fault is reported within the first 30 days of receipt, you may have a short-term right to reject; see our Return & Cancellation Policy for details.
7. Costs & Postage
- If a product is confirmed faulty or incorrect, First Point Midlands LTD will cover reasonable return postage or provide a prepaid label where available.
- If no fault is found or the issue falls outside this policy (e.g., misuse or wear/tear), the item may be returned to you at your cost.
8. Timescales
- We aim to assess warranty claims promptly upon receipt. Where a return is required, we generally complete assessment within 5–10 business days of arrival.
- Refunds (where applicable) are processed within 5 business days after inspection, to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
9. Relationship with Returns & Refund Policy
This Guarantee operates alongside our Return & Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy. For “change of mind” returns within 30 days, please follow the Returns process. Warranty claims should follow the email-only process in Section 4.
10. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your statutory rights. If you believe your consumer rights have been breached, please contact us by email only at sales@toolbuyer.co.uk so we can review and respond in writing.
